Rap Treats #50: Positive K - The Lost First Priority LP

I always wondered why Positive K never released an when he was on First Priority Records. His shit was too fresh. A few dope 12"s but that was it. This Pos K collection isn't technically an album that was supposed to come out on First Priority back in '88, but it is a collection of all the records Positive K recorded while on First Priority (as well as a few rare tracks from before and after that time). Big up DJ Dee-Ville from Ain'tItGoodToYou for putting this together. This was Pos K at his best (although "Night Shift" was my shit!). For bonus Positive K check the "Step Up Front" video below. Records: A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory 12"s

More Tribe! This time around it's all the 12 inches from the Low End Theory album, which is easily one of my top 5 albums ever. This shit is just classic - artwork, music, everything. The "Jazz" single is actually the CD single and not the 12" because the CD single also had the radio edits of the LP version and the Re-Recording (aka remix). And as bonus bonus, some more classic Tribe footage courtesy MeaningOfDope at the bottom of the post. "Ya on point Phife? All the time Tip."

Demos: Common Sense Demo Tape (1991)

This is Common's demo tape called UnAmerican Caravan from 1991. That means pre Can I Borrow A Dollar? Common Sense. This is the tape that got him into The Source's Unsigned Hype column back in the day. Like most demo tapes it was ripped off a cassette, but unlike most demo tapes it actually sounds good.

Common Sense

1. First Days Of School
2. Take It Easy (original)
3. To The Temple
4. Who Stole The Clippers
5. The Caravan Train
6. Divide And Conquer
7. 'A' For Effort

Classic Material - Eric B & Rakim on Much Music (1989)

Classic material from Much Music that aired just before Follow The Leader came out. Ultra classic.
