Leaders Of The New School Reunite @ BK Hip-Hop Fest!

This is the greatest thing ever - a Leaders Of The New School reunion! I actually never thought I'd see the day, but it def brought a smile to my face (and a tear to Flipout's eye) to see Dinco D, Charlie Brown, and Busta Rhymes performing "Case Of The P.T.A." complete with the East Coast Stomp! On top of the L.O.N.S. reunion, Busta also brought out Phife & Q-Tip and for a "Scenario" performance with all 5 MC's. When was the last time that happened - the Arsenio Hall show back in '92?! (see video below)

Busta doesn't stop there as he also brings out M.O.P, Buckshot, Smif-N-Wessun, and Slick Rick!

Rap Treats #61: 2Pac & Boot Camp Clik 'One Nation' LP

Around the time Pac was going at half of New York, he was also working on an album with the Boot Camp Clik called One Nation. I never thought this was going to see the light of day but luckily I was wrong.

Black Moon is one of those groups that helped make early/mid 90's Hip-Hop one of the illest eras in music. Their debut album Enta Da Stage is a certified classic and every single off the album are easily classics in their own right. No joke, every song on every side is a banger. Buckshot, 5Ft, and DJ Evil Dee crafted a sound that was heavy on samples, boom bap drums, and hardcore lyrics. There's nothing pretty here - no club jams, no radio friendly joints, no shiny suits, and no cute dances. Black Moon during this era is what Hip-Hop should be, what Hip-Hop is, and what Hip-Hop probably never will be again.

Another one of THE GREATEST 12 INCHES OF ALL TIME (you gotta say that like Muhammad Ali), this one is great because the song is a classic plus the 12" came with vocal, acapella and instrumental versions. It was also a Brooklyn super group put together by Spike Lee for his movie Crooklyn with legends Masta Ace, Special Ed, and Buckshot. Not sure why Q-Tip (Queens Tip) got to produced the track because he isn't from Brooklyn, but he was hot as hell as a producer back then (Nas, Tribe) so it works.
