Rap Treats #50: Positive K - The Lost First Priority LP

I always wondered why Positive K never released an when he was on First Priority Records. His shit was too fresh. A few dope 12"s but that was it. This Pos K collection isn't technically an album that was supposed to come out on First Priority back in '88, but it is a collection of all the records Positive K recorded while on First Priority (as well as a few rare tracks from before and after that time). This is the tape that got him into The Source's Unsigned Hype column back in the day. Like most demo tapes it was ripped off a cassette, but unlike most demo tapes it actually sounds good.

Sir Jinx produced Del demo tracks from back when he was rollin' with Da Lynch Mob. This is all late 80's material and all pre Hiero Del. Not sure if this was his actual demo tape, or a compilation of demos, but either way it's a must have for demo fiends (like myself) and Hiero fanatics (unlike myself).

These 3 releases came out in the mid 80's on 75 Girls Records and are all cassette tape rips. If you look hard enough they can be found, but they are still pretty rare. The buzz he generated off these tapes got him his deal with Jive. This is all pre Born To Mack Too Short, all sold out the trunk of his car, and all feature my favourite word... biiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaatch!

Rap Treats #46: The D.O.C. "Bridgette" (Unreleased)

This was recorded during The D.O.C.'s No One Can Do It Better recording sessions in 1989. The song is about a "dumb ho" named Bridgette and was originally on the album, but then cut at the last minute. I'm not sure why though because it's dope. The D.O.C. rapping about a skewer, with N.W.A. on the ad-libs, over a Dr. Dre produced beat!
